The Yitzhak Rabin Center was established by Knesset decree to commemorate the life and work of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin who was assassinated during his term of office in 1995.

The Center is a not-for-profit institution functioning as a living and active memorial to the life and values important to Yitzhak Rabin - democracy, tolerance, social responsibility and peace - and a place where the lessons of the past will be applied through education of Israel’s future generations.

Friends OF Rabin

The Friends of the Yitzhak Rabin Center is a non-for-profit organization established by supporters from around the world.

The Center focuses on remembering and promoting the ideals that Yitzhak Rabin lived for and ultimately gave his life ---democracy and tolerance. The Center includes a museum, an educational wing, library and archive. The museum is the first and only one devoted to modern Israeli history, portrayed through interactive exhibits using the chapters of Rabin’s life as a backdrop. Israeli and foreign visitors will learn about the development of Israeli society and the fragility of democracy.

The Moshe Safdie designed building has a commanding view of the city of Tel Aviv. The building was dedicated in November 2005 on the 10th commemoration of the assassination of the Prime Minister. The Rabin Center museum will be dedicated in November 2006.
